Anna Maria (Mate) Krizl was fondly known as “Nuschi” by her family and close friends. Nuschi was born in Duzs, Hungary on February 15, 1939. She was the oldest of three children born to Ladislaus and Barbara Mate. She had two brothers Josef and Johann. Her brother Johann is the last surviving member of her family.
Anna married Anthony “Tony” Krizl in Germany on June 29, 1963. Tony brought his bride to America after they were wed. They settled in Sacramento where they raised their family together. Anna gave birth to three children; Barbara Anna, November 1964, Paul Josef, October 1965 and Elizabeth Maria, December 1966. Tony and Anna lost their little boy two days after he was born.
Even though Anna endured much hardship during her life, God blessed her with a devoted and loving husband who cared for her and loved her very deeply for 47 years. He was always there at her side; up until the very end to care for her. Anna passed away quietly at home with her loving husband at her side. God also blessed her with three beautiful grandchildren; Stewart Anthony born August 1993, Nicholas Russell, born July 2004, and Olivia Elizabeth born June 2007.
Anna’s strong faith in God gave her the strength to endure the hardships in her life. Anna is with her parents, brother, and her dear baby boy in heaven watching over her family and praying for us. She will be missed dearly by her family and her devoted husband of 47 years.
All are welcome to attend her funeral services which are being held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1333 58th Street, Sacramento, CA. A rosary will be led by her loving husband the following day, Tuesday, May 17, 2011, 11am at the Golden Gate National Cemetery chapel in San Bruno, CA. All are welcome to attend the rosary and join her immediate family as they say their final farewell to a woman that touched each of them in a very special way.
