I was Aron's friend from the days of AOL's Game Parlor, starting around 1994-ish. That is how I met him, was just in playing trivia or other word games there at the online Game Parlor. He was quite skilled and very intelligent.

Later, I took a supervisory job with AOL, and he was on my team for about 4 years. He was one of the best workers I ever had on my team: loyal, trustworthy, dependable, sincere, and hard-working. On the surface, he was a good-natured, quiet, patient person who got his job done well and got along with others very well. He never set out to "rock the boat," so to speak. However, he was a man of deep thought and morals, who was assertive when something needed to be said, also...

I remember once when I had done something as a supervisor that might have ruined our team's sense of community. Rather than going over my head and contacting my supervisors or quitting in frustration (like many people did), Aron gently but firmly contacted me to let me know his thoughts about it.

He didn't insist on his own way, but he discussed the issue with me on several occasions over the course of a few weeks, until I came to understand the gravity of the mistake I had made. He was a great communicator like that, with persistence and patience.

His advice changed my life, and our team, for the better, and I have never forgotten it. I became a better worker, a better supervisor, a better human, because of that simple advice he gave.

He was a real gem, and my heart goes out to Donna and their families (especially his nieces and nephews whom he loved so dearly). He always spoke well of his own family and of Donna's family, however, I believe he never once called them "in-laws": he thought of them as his own family too.

Rest in Peace, my dear friend. You will be greatly missed in this world, but I believe I will see you again someday in heaven, which comforts me. ~Carolyn
