His academic achievements reflected his discipline, curiosity, and commitment to excellence. Barrington was also a proud member of the American Welding Society, demonstrating his dedication to professional growth and lifelong learning.
While Barrington valued his professional accomplishments, his greatest achievement was his family. He was a husband, father, and stepfather who took pride in teaching, guiding, and preparing his children for life. He believed some of life’s most important lessons were learned through experience. Whether taking family road trips, sharing stories along the way, or teaching his son how to change a flat tire, Barrington embraced every opportunity to pass along practical knowledge, wisdom, and confidence.
Barrington shared many years of life’s journey with his wife, Kerene Tucker-Mais, with whom he built a family grounded in love, support, and cherished memories. He was the proud father of Mark Mais, Danielle Mais, and Brenton Tucker-Mais, and a loving stepfather to Chad Davis, Brad Davis, and Shewan Binns-Davis.
An avid soccer enthusiast, Barrington enjoyed the camaraderie, competition, and excitement the sport brought throughout his life. He also cherished life’s simple moments, especially spending time with his children. Family movie outings became a treasured tradition, and his unmistakable laughter often echoed through the theater, creating memories that will forever bring smiles to those who shared them.
Known for his warm smile, generous heart, and dependable nature, Barrington touched countless lives. He was a source of encouragement, wisdom, and strength to family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness left a lasting impression, and his example continues to inspire those he loved.
Barrington was preceded in death by his father, Lascelles Mais, and his beloved sister, Joan Mais.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kerene Tucker-Mais; his children, Mark Mais, Danielle Mais, and Brenton Tucker-Mais; his stepchildren, Chad Davis, Brad Davis, and Shewan Binns-Davis; twelve grandchildren; his loving mother, Palamena Thomas; his brothers, Derick Mais, Horace Mais, Paul Mais, Barry Mais, and Romeo Mais; his sister, Ann Marie Mais-Williams; along with nieces, nephews, extended family members, lifelong friends, colleagues, and all whose lives were enriched by his kindness, wisdom, and generosity.
