Tass leaves his former wife Claire Tassinari and his wife of 5 years Polly Howard; four sons, Joseph of Oceanside, CA; John of Sacramento, CA; Paul of Rancho Cordova, CA; James who preceded Tass at birth; two daughters, Therese Campbell of Chattaroy, WA; Tina Johnson of Carmichael, CA; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by Mary (Tassinari) Welch, Robert Tassinari, Tracy (Campbell) Truman and Sheila (Jensen) Tassinari.
Tass retired after 21 years of service in the Air Force as a Panel Engineer. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and served with the Western Development Division at LAX during the Sputnik Era. He was employed at McClellan AFB in 1974 and retired as a Supervisor for the Planning Section of Manea in 1990. Tass was an umpire in Rancho Cordova, CA for 21 years and was a member of the S.M.O.A. and the R.C.O.A. until 1986 when he retired. He enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh and loved spending time with family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Nov 8 at 11:00 am at St. John Vianney Parish, 10497 Coloma Rd, Rancho Cordova, with a graveside service with military honors to follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery, 7780 Olive St., Fair Oaks. Reception to follow at the Johnson’s residence. The family request in lieu of flowers loved ones can donate to Carlo’s charity St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
