Carolyn Anne Jones

Carolyn graduated from McClatchy High School in 1970 and went on to earn her Master’s degree from California State University, Sacramento. Her career with the Sacramento City Unified School District spanned decades and many roles. She began at Kennedy High School as a teacher and coach, proudly earning the title “Coach Jones,” which she cherished throughout her life. Carolyn later served in several leadership positions and retired as Vice Principal of McClaskey Adult School.

Carolyn lived her life with honesty, humor, and a gift for bringing joy to others. She loved golf and tennis, and in later years joined the ukulele group Ohana Mele, delighting in playing and performing at community events. She enjoyed the comfort of her home, boating on her beloved “Toodle", and spending time with her family, friends, and cherished pets. One of her favorite places was the family cabin, where she could be found fly fishing or simply sitting on the porch swing, listening to the river.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Gertrude “Peachy” Jones, her brother Mike Jones, and her nephew Reid Jones. She is survived by her siblings Charlene Jones, Charles (Shary) Jones, and Dennis (Janet) Jones; nieces and nephews Joni, Stacy (Max), Marla, Shannon (John), Kim (Joe), and Gregg (Melissa); and many great-nieces and great-nephews who she dearly loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Harry Nauman & Son Funeral Home, 4041 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95822. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819, with a reception afterward.
