I was shocked and saddened to learn of Christie's passing.  My sincere condolences to her family.  She was a very special person and  will be missed by her many friends.

Christie was my older sister and I loved her more than words can ever say, all of her family did. The last four years have been an emotional roller coaster. I just kept thinking they would find another trick. She was soooo strong all 102 lbs of her. The only time we saw her start to cry for a brief second was when RAS Chemo Center told us that she was limited to two visitors per session. On that day there were four of us off in a corner out of the way. It was my sister Cindy, her two dear friends from high school Kathy Rushford and Cathy Carvalho and I. The management at the Chemo center made our time there very difficult and unpleasant. When her dear friends left to go wait in the lobby so that her family could be with her, Christie started to cry. She was so sad that part of her support group was being taken away. She quickly composed herself as we reassured her we would rotate our time with them. These two dear women came with us every week to help lighten the load, pass the time, and help us all laugh during the long sessions of Chemo, we will be forever grateful.  Anyone who really knew Christie knows that she would give the longest hugs. About a week before she passed I was at her home and I was getting ready to leave and as usual gave her a hug. We hugged for the longest time when I asked her “do you want to cry?' I said it's ok to cry Christie. She through her hands in the air and said “I'm just not a big boo-hooer. I was floored once again by her strength. Well my dearest sister I am a big boo-hooer. I will be boo-hooing the rest of my life, we all will, our hearts are so broken. Rest in peace my beautiful sister, until we meet again. I will not be afraid because I will be running to the loving arms of my big sister. I love you!!!!

Sad to hear that Christie passed away. She was so pleasant to work with. My heart goes out to her family & friends.

I am saddened to learn of Christie's illness and passing.  We worked together in our early years at Social Services.  She was wonderfully unforgettable!  My condolences to Russ and Helen and all who are feeling this loss in their lives.  God Bless and Take Care.

What a fun, kind & awesome friend our sweet Christie was.  I have never had more fun or laughed so much as when in her company. Our boat trips to SF will always be a wonderful memory!

Condolences from the Dunham Family. While my mom is not in good health right now she was very saddened to hear the news of Christie's passing as we all are.  I can remember Christie coaching Bobby Sox and spending a lot of time at our house.  She is at rest now and not in any pain.  Rest in Peace Christie.

Christie was a wonderful caring person. Someone we were always delighted to see at club events and happen to have the chance to sit, share a glass of wine and converse with. Our deepest sympathy to Russ and family. May all the great memories help you cope and time help you heal.

Christie was a wonderful human being.  She lived her life fully and courageously, with her sarcastic wit and humor.  All of these qualities were even more magnified during her illness and Christie was a shining example of someone who had lived their life well and had no regrets.  She will forever be remembered by those of us who loved her but, even more, by those of us who were fortunate enough to be loved by her.  It was a privilege to have been able to spend time with her the last several weeks and to be able to call her "family".  Love and peace to you Christie....

Christie was an extraordinary human being. A woman of rock solid personal integrity, genuine courtesy and above all a disarming humbleness which allowed her to move gently through life rocking a few boats while remaining true to her own course and in control of her helm. Opening today's paper and seeing Christie's picture and story was very shocking and saddening.
