Damon, 
You were remembered & fondly missed at our 40th reunion.   We raised a glass in your memory & knew you were present in spirit.  Still, it was a loss not to have you among us. Your sweet manner, infectious smile & handsome face are missed. Rest In Peace friend & know you are in our hearts.  

Damon and I knew each other back in Jr. High school and had our “Greek Lineage” in common.  We hung out after school now and then and into adulthood we’d bump into each other in the grocery store or at a concert.  Rest In Peace brother “D” for you went way too young,  but God has other work for you.  This reaffirms that any one of us can go at ANY time. God keep you and protect you forever buddy.

My Dearest Damon,

J’ai le Coeur brise que Dieu t’a pris si tot. I held your cheek in my hand, and your hand in my hand, for the last time this past week; no longer warm to the touch as just days prior. I prayed so hard that I could simply lean over and breathe life back into you, but alas God has other plans for you mon cher – beautiful plans for you – and you are now in his grace. I will always remember meeting up in Greece and I will never look at the beauty of the Greek countryside through the same eyes again, thank you for that. I will remember always your strength, your kindness, and that smile … oh God that smile. It could turn anyone’s day around, and I think you knew that because you gave it away so willingly and lovingly to everyone. Some day we will see each other again cher coeur. I am forever grateful to have had you in my life. Until next time ... I will carry your heart with me, I will carry it in my heart.

My Dear Friend Damon, I put my right hand on your hands, and your chest last night at the Trisaigon.   You were at complete peace and laid before , the  Altar, of - where as young men you and I served as Altar Boys . Iam Confident, you knew that your presence, - in my life and the so many  of people you left an impression, upon dropped tons of tears, in your final, crossing over to that ultimate, Paradise.  My Friend, You will never be forgotten.  You will be in very good company , with your Father and our Old friend, Jimmy Marcos. Though we were in different circles of people , I do remember Damon and his Family working hard in the Greek Community, helping and volunteering. I had seen up close how fragile life could be during conflict in the Middle East in the Army, and it changed the outlook I had, being greeted warmly by one of the first people at Church were members of The Mamalis Family. No words alone can change anything except to offer my deepest sympathy, respect, at this time of grief to all in Damon's Family. May God Bless Him, and his Memory be Eternal for his unwavering devotion to Family, and to his many years of dedication to the Greek Community.

Wow, hard to believe you are gone ole friend..  Seems like yesterday when we were in 4th, 5th and 6th grade at Hollywood Park Elementary meeting up at the school 20 min before our class and playing some good ole fashion stick ball with the rest of the neighborhood kids, then moving on to Juaquin Miller Jr. HS then to good ole CKM, through all those times until now I will always cherish the good conversations about your daughter, family, moments and respect we had for one another as friends growing up.  Since I can remember you were always the sample of a true “Gentleman “ Damon..  Until we meet again ole friend, much love and respect “Buzzy” 🙏❤️🙏🏾

Dear Mrs. Mamalis, Gina , Marina and Family, 
There are no words to express the sorrow that I feel for your loss. Damon was a proud father, a proud Greek and a person who had passion for all that he loved in life.  I remember when we were growing up what a fantastic and charismatic Greek dancer he was. He was the best who took the stage every year dancing at the Greek food festivals and  dance festival competitions.  What I know he loved the most was being a father to his beautiful daughter, Marina.   
Damon was unique and  made an imprint in our Greek community and he will never be forgotten.  May god bless and comfort you all during this difficult time and may Damon’s memory be eternal.   My deepest condolences.

Every once in a while, God blesses us with a very special person, and indeed Damon was that person !
As far back as I can remember -and even not too long ago, at the Festival, where we briefly caught up on old times, Damon exuded that sense of humor... that infectious smile... and the light, which would brighten up any room.
He will be greatly missed, but I know that in someway we'll take comfort in all the memories we have, and can forever share.

I am so terribly heartbroken to hear of your passing Damon. I will always be grateful for the many great times we had dancing at Confetti's in the 80's and late nights at Lyon's laughing at how crazy we all were!! Such a good man; loving father and a wonderful soul. Always kind to me with a good sense of humor. Very smart and skilled real estate investor; he had an eye for detail as well as return. 

I spoke to him just about five days ago as I was trying to play a prank on him by calling on the car he had for sale in his driveway but he figured it out pretty quick. He said he felt fine and now he's not here. 

God called him and it was his time.
God bless him And May God have mercy on his soul everlasting. God please bring comfort to his Daughters and family. 

You were the first friend in Sacramento. You opened your home and hugged my whole family. Whenever I needed you you were near me. You had a big heart. When I hear the word Sacramento I will remember your face. I will never forget you buddy. Good heavens.
