To the entire Dogias Family: It was with great sadness that I read online about the passing of Father Dogias. My family and I send our sincere condolences. Father Dogias conducted his first marriage here in Washington, DC when he married me and my late husband Demetrios. Ironically, my husband passed just 6 months ago on the day that Father Dogias passed. We loved him and his family and I can remember that Presvetera was so gracious to give us so many baby clothes when our first was born in 1974. I am very honored to be married by Father Dogias. He also baptist my husband for our wedding. We have been married since May 7th, 2000 and have been Blessed by Father Dogias. He will be greatly missed.

We were  all so saddened to hear that Father Dogias had passed...away but never forgotten by the many whose lives he has touched and enriched in so many beautiful ways.  I know that my father Steven considered him one of his truest and most valued friends, especially in his later years, and that the two often had long and deep conversations, especially regarding Byzantine history...the entire Orthodox community was indeed extremely fortunate to have Father at the helm for so long, and his booming voice and larger-than-life presence will be forever engraved in our hearts.  Thank you for sharing him with us!  Eternal be his memory!

So sorry to learn of Father D's passing.  He was such a big part of my family's life whether it was presiding over marraiges, baptisims, funerals, house warmings, or as an honored guest in my parents' home.  The impact that he and you had upon our lives has never been forgotten and will always be remembered.  May his memory be eternal!

I am so sorry. I was touched so much that Father Demetrius came to my husband's funeral in January.  Little did I know that was the last time I saw him.  Fr. Demetrius was so wonderful when our church first became Orthodox many years ago.  Thank you for sharing him with all of us.

I am so saddened by our loss of Father Demetrius.  He was so kind and loving to me during the good times and bad.  Despite my physical challenges and not getting to church on a regular basis, the two of you always embraced me for who I am and what I continue to do for others as an Orthodox Christian.
