Donald Wayne McIntyre

Donald Wayne McIntyre was born on April 22, 1958, in Mobile, Alabama, to Carlee and Bessie McIntyre. On July 9, 2026, he peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and service to others.

In 1966, Don’s family relocated to Sacramento, California, where he was raised. He attended Will C. Wood Middle School and graduated from Hiram Johnson High School.

From an early age, Don developed a passion for automobiles. Blessed with a natural mechanical ability, he became a self-taught mechanic whose knowledge and expertise were sought after by family, friends, and neighbors alike. Whether diagnosing a difficult problem or lending a helping hand, Don found great joy in using his talents to serve others. Working on cars was more than a skill; it was one of his greatest passions.

Don accepted Christ at an early age and remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life. He was a proud and faithful member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. His love for the Lord was evident in the way he outwardly proclaimed his faith. He was never ashamed to proclaim his love for Jesus Christ, and it was not uncommon to hear him long before you saw him, joyfully driving through the neighborhood with his favorite gospel music filling the air.

Throughout his life, Don built meaningful relationships with countless people. He never met a stranger and had an extraordinary ability to make others feel welcomed and appreciated. He was deeply loved by his siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. His infectious smile, quick wit, and playful sense of humor brought laughter wherever he went. Don had a special way of expressing his love through lighthearted teasing, genuine conversation, and acts of kindness that left lasting memories with everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Don leaves to cherish his memory his two sons, Jermaine (Heather) McIntyre of Sacramento, California, and Tyrie McIntyre of Sacramento, California; his beloved grandchildren, Jermaine Jr., Shanice, Morgan, Kennedy, Tyler, Tyce, and Tristyn; eight cherished great-grandchildren; his brothers, Larry (Mary) McIntyre of Columbus, Mississippi, and George McIntyre of Sacramento, California; and his sisters, Barbara McIntyre, Lora Ann (Chris), and Mary Alice McIntyre, all of Sacramento, California. He also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carlee and Bessie McIntyre; his granddaughter, Sumaya McIntyre; his sister, Linda McIntyre; his brother, Marvin McIntyre; his nephews, LaMarr Alexander, Tyronne Harrell, and Raymond George McIntyre; his brothers-in-law, Bobby Ray Harden and Lawrence Barlin; and his sister-in-law, Mattie McIntyre.

Don will be remembered for his unwavering faith, generous heart, remarkable mechanical talents, contagious laughter, and the unconditional love he shared with his family and friends. Although his physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit, his wisdom, and the countless memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
