Donna Mae Fisher, a longtime Sacramento area resident, passed gently to the arms of Jesus on the morning of March 5, after a 6 year battle with lung cancer. Donna was born on October 14, 1942 in Brainerd, MN into a farming family that grew to 8 siblings. She moved to Sacramento, CA. in 1966 and established roots. She took her first job with Crocker Bank, then started her 25 year career with the State of California Employment Development Department. During this time she met ex-husband Richard "Dick" Fisher (deceased 2004) and started her family. Donna would most like to be remembered as a simple, uncomplicated person who lived a very joyous, wonderful, yet simple life. She lived for the Lord, her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Materially she was not wealthy, but in the things in life that mattered to her most, she considered herself to be one the richest people on Earth. She touched the heart of all she met and took a genuine concern for whomever crossed her path. Often described as "one of the nicest people ever," her presence on earth will be greatly missed by all who know and love her. Donna was preceded in death by parents John and Mada Tautges, siblings Bonnie Dirks, Sharon Rasinski, James Tautges and Bernard Tautges. She is survived by son Richard Fisher II (wife Tracy, children Kaeli and Lindsey), by daughter Cindi Fisher Long (husband Kevin, children Kaitlyn, Mary, Liberty) and siblings Marlene Smith, Dewayne Tautges and Jerald Tautges. A funeral mass is to be held at Divine Savior Catholic Church in Orangevale at 1pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation to Divine Savior Catholic Church in her memory or pay it forward with an act of kindness out in the world in an effort to remember Donna's kind heart.
