Dora E. Del Porto

Born on 1/19/1920 in East Sacramento and lived all her life there until she moved into The WaterLeaf at Land Park in 2009. Died 5/13/2016 in Sacramento.

Graduated from Sacramento High School in 1938. Retired from the State of California in 1978 with 24+ years of service as an office assistant.

68-year member and past president of the Sacramento Lodge, Sons of Italy. Former member of the Dante Club Auxiliary.

Danced with several folk dancing groups.

Devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Always had a sparkle in her eye, busy hands, and a compassionate heart.

Preceded in death by her parents, Pietro and Eletta Malerbi, her husband, Joseph A. Del Porto, her brother Louis V. Malerbi and his wife Bertha.

Survived by her son, Donald Del Porto (Carol) of Sacramento and grandchildren Anthony Del Porto (Monica Hernandez) of Oakland, CA and Christina Del Porto (Thomas White) of Pacific Grove, CA. and nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, 39th and J Streets, Sacramento. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. There will be a reception afterwards.

The family wishes to express utmost gratitude to the caregivers and support staff at WaterLeaf who provided love and care for Dora throughout the years.
