Age 93, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Sacramento, CA. She was born on January 23, 1921 in Worthington, Iowa. Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Robert B. Akers, her son Robert A. Akers, and great-granddaughter Ashley Purdy. She is survived by loving children Susan Smart, Sherry Delso, Karen Beeken, Gayle Evans, Randall Akers and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy touched many lives and will be truly missed by all who were honored to know her and who loved her. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Harry A. Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd, in Sacramento, CA from 4-8 p.m. and rosary to follow at 7:00p.m. Graveside Service a St. Mary's Cemetery Private.
