

Edward Frantz was born on July 27, 1955 in Sacramento, California to Lyle and Adeline Frantz. He passed away at his home on May 22, 2025 at the age of 69.
A proud graduate of Mira Loma High School (Class of 1973), Ed dedicated 50 years of service to the United States Postal Service before retiring earlier this year. Known for his steady work ethic and quiet generosity, Ed was deeply devoted to his family and will be remembered as a loving brother, father, and grandfather. He had a lifelong love of sports and a gift for forming strong, lasting connections with those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Adeline, and his brother, Fred. He is survived by his sister, Gloria of Antelope; his brothers, Tony (Jen) of Loomis, and Phil (Dyan) of Roseville; his sons, Alan (Terri) of Antelope, Tim (Kim) of Rocklin, and Michael (Cassandra) of Mesa, Arizona; and his daughter Christina of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Known as Papa or 49er Papa, Ed was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Alyssa, Alex, Cooper, Joey, Vincent, Ben, and Gianna. He is also survived by his niece and nephews: Jack, Jessie, and Evan.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Lombard Funeral Home, 1550 Fulton Ave, Sacramento.
The funeral Mass will take place on Friday, June 13, at 12:00 p.m. at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, 4123 Robertson Ave, Sacramento, followed by a committal service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 7101 Verner Ave, Sacramento.
