

Eleanor (Dolly) Johnson, age 85, formerly of New Bedford, Massachusetts passed away January 13, 2020. Born September 17, 1934 she was the oldest of four children born to Antone Morris and Madeline Costa Frias. In 1953 she married her former husband, Ben Johnson, then moved to Southern California and later to the bay area. She was a homemaker raising three children, when they relocate to the Sacramento area and opened Mr. Tune Up. She was a savvy independent business women who ran her own UHaul business until she retired. Once the grandchildren came along, she volunteered at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin's parish and school, where she most recently worked in the rectory office. She spent the last year of her life in Colorado with her daughter Sandy and her family. She will be laid to rest next to her sister, Madeline Tavares, at Camellia Memorial Lawn.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and one of her siblings. She is survived by her children, Ben Johnson Jr, Sandy McFarlane (Glen McFarlane), and Brenda Cooper (Jeff Cooper), grandchildren, Shannon Ireland, Kelly McFarlane, Glen McFarlane III, Garrett Cooper, and Haley Cooper, and great granddaughter Emily Ireland, and her two siblings Tony Morris and Carol Marrinan.
A visitation will be held Friday evening, January 24, 2020 at 5:00 PM at Lombard Funeral Home, 1550 Fulton Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95825. A rosary and mass will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, 4123 Robertson Ave, Sacramento, CA 95821. A graveside will follow from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Camellia Memorial Lawn, 10221 Jackson Road, Sacramento, CA 95827. The family will be hosting a reception at the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish following the graveside service.
