She was born to the late Louis and Emma Arnold, December 27, 1935, in Sacramento, CA. Ella graduated from Saint Joseph High School in 1953.
A loving mother and friend, Ella was a dedicated mother first and foremost, and enjoyed helping those around her. She was a volunteer at Loaves & Fishes, which brought her much joy to help others less fortunate than herself. Although a petite lady, her big heart could lighten up any room. Ella dedicated her life to her family; she treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. She had a charming personality and always made people around her feel comfortable. Ella was a strong and independent woman who liked to keep an immaculate house and yard. In her spare time, she enjoyed long walks and visits to her gym, where she met dear friends she considered family. Most of all, she loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Ella was predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years, Bill Cameron. She married the late James Dunkley in 1954, and together they had four children. Ella is survived by her sister and best friend, Lucille Patitucci of Carmichael, and her four children, all of Sacramento: Sandy Dunkley, Kim Cody, Greg Dunkley, and Glenn Dunkley. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Jennifer Vallejo and husband Art, and Casey Dunkley. She had one great-grandchild: Artie Vallejo III.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Harry A. Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95822.
