Florence was born in San Ysidro, California on July 28, 1925 to Gim Bo Sam and Chi Chung Ng. Florence graduated from college with a Bachelors in Science and worked as an auditor for the state of California. Nearly 50 years ago, Florence married Stan Quon in Sacramento, California.
Florence always created good healthy habits and kept her svelte figure throughout her life. She was an avid tennis player and would rise by the crack of dawn to secure a tennis court with her husband Stan. After a "friendly" set or two, they would often unwind with their tennis partners at Caffe Latte. More recently, Florence would often be seen walking alone or with a friend, especially about the neighborhood; but beware, if you tag along, you'll need to step up your pace to stay in stride with her. When dining with family or friends and even on her last cruise that was 100 days, and combined 4 seas, she rarely indulged and always ate consciously. Though..with less than a twist of her arm, Florence could be persuaded into a glass or two of White Zinfindel.
Florence and Stan were season ticket holders with the 49ers and Sacramento Kings. She loved tailgating with friends and family at the Candlestick parking lot and remained smiling, animated and inspired by the camaraderie however, aloof through the horseplay and nonsense. She was true to the Kings although she grew up in "Laker land" She prayed for better days beyond the NBA West Conference Finals (2002).
Florence truly enjoyed living in Sacramento, never giving any indication that she would ever want to move from her community. She made many friends and cherished her neighbors. She loved her home of 50 years while listening to the geese squabble on the beach of her backyard. The lake and its surroundings never grew old, only changing in small increments that she would detail.
Florence loved life and lived it to the fullest. She carried herself with dignity and was unwavering. She was embraced by the Quon clan and undoubtedly missed her husband Stan and her brothers Ed, Peter and Glenn amongst many of her cousins, nieces and nephews. This became more evident as she later opened up about her family. She would reminisce of days gone by in Southern California and displayed photos of family in her living room.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.harryanauman.com for the QUON family.
