Lower, Frances born on April 7, 1919 in Sacramento, passed away on November 23 in Sacramento. Preceded in death by her loving husband LaVern of 51 years. Frances is survived by son Jim (Palma) and daughter Kathy (Gerry).
Frances was born at home during the great flu pandemic. As a child she traveled throughout the country with her mother who was an RN and worked in various places including Astoria, Oregon; Walla Walla, Washington; Folsom Prison and Standing Rock Indian Rock Indian Reservation where Frances graduated from Wakpala High School in South Dakota. Frances was an independent thinker and was mindful of the American Indian’s plite.
Frances and LaVern met in Foresthill, California and were married in Los Angeles in 1942.
She enjoyed a good book, gardening in her yard and being with her family.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on November 29th, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd in Sacramento. Burial service on December 1st at Noon at Newcastle Cemetery, 850 Taylor Road. Reception to follow.
