Dad,

Six years ... seems like only yesterday.  I remember the weekend you left us so vividly, down to every minute I was able to spend with you; including curling up next to you in your bed to sleep with you the night before you passed.  You were and always will be the first man to love me.  So many life events have occurred in our family since you left us.  Your grandsons college graduation and his wedding, and the birth of three beautiful great-grandchildren; one of whom I know you are taking care of for us up there.  

I love you and miss you dad ... always.

I am sorry to hear that Gary is nolonger with us.  I ran into Gary coming out of Costco a few month ago, and we shared old memories serving in the 980th Medsom as weekend Warriors in the California Army National Guard.  I shared with Gary the recent loss of my wife in October and he talked about his illness.  As we talked, there was no fear in Garys' voice or his demeanor about the future for him.  He did state that he has taken care of all the necessities for his family.  
I am glad to have known and served with Gary, and I know he is in a better place now with no regrets.  
To his family, please accept my deepest heartfelt sympathies for your loss.  I know that God understands your situation, He will comfort you & keep you during your grieving.  Gary has finished his race of the faith & is at rest with the Lord.

Gary was a good man. We lived a few blocks from him when we were kids. We attended grammar school and high school together. He was in the 58 class and we were in the 59 class. We will never forget his great smile...RIP Gary...

GARY SCRIVEN epitomized the “ideal neighbor” and good friend for whom any one, even this little community on Greenway Circle.  Neighbors and friends for over forty years, he was the one  who would encourage end execute putting in our first lawn sprinkling system; who'd watch out for our dogs and help us throughout; who'd pick up our little boy Matthew when he crashed his bike; the one who'd watch out for our safety and well being.
Forever thoughtful and generous, Gary would share produce, desserts; he'd host his surf and turf fishing and hunting suppers…adding a bottle of beer or glass of wine to further lift the spirits~
Of course, he was a devoted and loving partner to Peggy, a proud and nurturing Dad to Jon and Heather.   A devoted and loyal friend to many, too many to count.
Gary's legacy to us on Greenway Circle will long prevail through his pride in his neighborhood and community; naturally through his teachings and guidance to his grandchildren.  We will always remember our Gary and how much he meant to us.

Peggy and family, I am so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. I'll never forget how kind he was to me when I needed a listening ear. He was a special man and even though I hadn't seen him, or you Peggy, in many years I've always remembered both of you with much kindness.
