Max and Sophie Wasserman were married on October 28, 1921, beginning a union that lasted until Max passed away 51 years later. But Granny continued to have a great life surrounded by all of us until 1988.
And their love produced the unforgettable Gladys, later to be adored as Mom, Mama, Grandma and Auntie Glady. Glady was joined by baby brother Arthur in 1924, but Uncle Art left us way too soon in 1973.
Mom met and fell for the charms of Jimmy Codron in 1940, and agreed to reward him with her hand in 1941. Then, with Dad’s assistance, Mom blessed the world with Barry in 1943, Ronnie in 1945, and Deanne in 1955.
Because of the frequent absences related to the career that Dad chose, Mom was the angel that not only kept our household intact, but warm and productive. There was never a moment that anyone in the home she created felt anything but the greatest love. Throughout her life, Mom, and Dad, until his passing in 1995, continued to insure that we all felt that same degree of closeness as we added Linda, Patricia, Avis and Eric to our family. And our individual homes were filled with the same warmth and laughter that Mom fostered throughout our youth. Mom never wanted anyone to be less than completely joyful, and she would not want today to be any different. So remembering Mom today will be as positive as she was all of her wonderful life.
Mom leaves a priceless legacy of undying, inspiring memories, not only for her three children, but for her six grandchildren, Kimberly, Tamra, Leah, Erica, Andrew and Jason, her twelve great grandchildren, Phoebe, Michael, Paige, Matthew, Allie, Sidney, Amelia, Saila, Cedar, Florence, Declan and Mackenzie, and her new great great grandson Brooks.
