I was never privileged to meet Glen, but one can tell from these beautiful tributes what a fine man he was.  I know Pat and the rest of his family will be comforted to know that he lived his life so well and shared it with so many.  My love to you all.

I am truly saddened to hear of Glen's loss and would like to express my sincere condolences to Patricia and her family. Glen was such an amazing person who touched the lives of many. He was also a great ambassador of Chevron and will be truly missed by his Chevron family. We will miss his commitment to customer service and seeing him out on the pump islands interacting with his customers. Thank you for the 60+ years of flying the Standard Oil / Chevron flag.

I am the former son-in-law of Glen and I wanted to write something to let those that cares know how heartbroken I am at Glen's passing.  I never met a better man or a kinder person than Glen.  When Malynn and I lost our son, Glen took charge as no one else could, to arrange Kelly's funeral.  Despite his own sense of over whelming loss over the death of his grandson, he held the family together during those difficult times.  Even when Malynn and I separated, he was fair and kind to me.  I have tried to pattern my life choices and how I treated people on the way Glen did it.  There are only a few men that passed through my life that affected me as Glen did.  His kind of a person doesn't come into this world too often.  I remember is smile, his laugh and his firm handshake.  I remember his honesty and work ethic.  I remember a man that loved fishing and flying airplanes.  The world lost a great man when he passed away, and I lost one of my guiding beacons.  To his children, grandchild, and great grandchildren I wish you peace in the knowledge that Glen will always be remembered as a great man and that he is at rest now.  Few of us can measure up to him, I know I cannot.  His service to country, kindness to friends and strangers, and most importantly love of family; that's what I remember most about Glen.  No one did it better!  It was an honor and a privilege to have known him and to have been a part of his world.  To Malynn specifically, I am so sorry at your father's passing; I know what a loss it is to you.  Your father has slipped the surly bonds of earth, so when you look up in the sky and see a wisp of a cloud; remember it is probably your Dad flying by.  Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed but never forgotten.

I was privileged to meet Glen about 12 years ago.  It did not take long to realize that he was a man of incredible integrity, responsibility, trust and warmth, and that the world would be a much better place if there were more folks like him in it.  

I started out thinking of him as a client, but while working with him on the re-design of his Station, I came to hope that he might come to think of me as a friend.

To a great man ,your memories will run deep in us all, as you look down upon us from the heavens above .We will always think of you and your kindhearted way of life and most of all your love. R.I.P. Glen till we meet once again .

My Uncle Glen was the nicest man I have ever known and he will be missed greatly. I remember as a young girl he always smiled at me and took the time to talk to me and he always listened to me, too. As I grew older and sometimes watched him with others, I realized he made everyone feel special, just in the way he took a moment to really listen. I never heard him complain, or even speak an unkind word about anyone, and I believe this is a very rare talent. My prayers are with the family.

I was lucky enough to call Glen grandpa. We spent many weekends at his house growing up. When I was little he would swim with me and tried to teach me how to dive... Notice I said tried..The bbq was always going, while my mom and aunt were in the kitchen putting together the rest of the meal. Dinners there were full of laughter and fun. I always got the seat next to him, as I was the only grandchild living. I remember when he would call us on a Saturday at 6 am, and say be here in twenty min. So we would rush to get dressed and head over, from there we would head to the airport to go for a fly with him, I loved that, I got to sit up front next to him then also. He took me on my first date. In fourth grade my father had to work, so my grandpa stepped in and took me to the father daughter dinner dance at school, he came and picked me up in his cadillac, and off we went. These are just a few memorys from my childhood, he was an amazing man, and wonderful father, and a perfect grandpa... He will be missed, but those memorys will remain.

Our family met Glen when he had the Chevron station on Madison Ave in Citrus Heights.  My mom & dad were some of the folks Glen helped over 30 years ago in car work and carrying the bill.  As a senior at San Juan H.S. my brother had a job pumping gas and a few years later when I was in my early 20s Glen gave me a job working in the cashier booth.  I have very fond memories of Glen and those who worked at the station.  Yesterday my brother and I remembered the trip when Glen took us up in his small plane.  Wow!  What a thrill and all I did was stay in the back and use the little bag :-) provided for air sickness, yet Glen was so very kind.  I wish our families had stayed in touch, I am saddened to hear of his passing and enriched to read all of the wonderful words others have posted.  I hope my son and grandson grow up to be men like Glen.  Heartfelt wishes and condolences to his family.

I worked for Glen for 2 years and saw how dedicated he was to his business and customers. He made sure he gave the kind of service that his customers deserved. He would get up on the 4-wheel drive trucks and wash their windshields himself. He was a caring person and you could tell he loved his family and friends fiercely. He will be missed by many. My prayers go out to his family and friends in their time of mourning.

I believe mine was one of the last windshields his sweet, kind hands touched.  I hope he knew how good it felt everytime I got to see his smile. We will miss our one and only Glen Cox.   Very sorry for your loss, family of Glen.

Glen Cox is a ledged in Midtown Sacramento.  One of the last of a dying breed.  He would always thake the time to talk or listen.  Would do anything for you.  He was my mentor, my role model.  I can only hope to be close to the man he was. Although, he was the only man I knew who would spend $20.00 and two hours worth of time to repair a part that costs $5.00 and take five minutes to replace! : )  I love you Big Guy!! Rest In Peace!!!!

What a special, wonderful man!  I looked forward to visiting his Chevron station for its unsurpassed service and friendly atmosphere.  He was always ready with a smile.  When I couldn't pump the gas, he took care of it for me and even checked under the hood of my car.  We had a couple of long talks about our memories of Sacramento.  I will miss him.

My sister and I were lucky enough to have Glen as a father.  He taught me all the important things in life.  How to survive and never get lost, hunting, fishing, boating, flying.  He had a great sense of humor, and was always ready to help someone out.  He treated his customers with courtesy and respect--he was old-fashioned that way.
He was lucky to love two women in his life.  His family expanded to include his many friends, and we will all miss him very much.  Thanks Dad for always being there for all of us.  We love you.

So sorry to hear of Glen's passing.  For 7 years I stopped by his station, and only his, once a week to fill up my car.  He always took the time to wash my window and chat for a moment.  He was truly old school in his attitude toward service. I will miss his twinkling blue eyes and his many kindnesses.  The world has lost a true gentleman.

Glen is a man that never said bad about anyone.  I have known him for over 40 years.  He will be missed.

I remember Glen when my grandma use to take me in side and get gas he was a nice man every time I saw him. My grandma Mary Valdez which passed away recently also use to get her car serviced with Glen and only Glen. He would always let her pay payments on the work he did. He was the only person in town who would trust someone enough to make a payment. This is the type of heart Glen had he cared about his customer and friends. I will always remember they way he ran his shop he was old school and it made me happy to know someone still did things the right way.

I will always remember Glen's deeds, performance, actions, activities, manners, and conduct as a servant.  I will remember his words of wisdom, all the parents that he touched; their kids and their grand kids with a smile and care over the years. 
 I never met one person that had anything bad to say about him. He knew how to win over people whom he served. 
 Several years ago he was at work, he went out the back door and a dog pulled him to the ground and bit him several times on his legs. Glen went back to work the next day and said I am fine.  I said Glen please go see the doctor, he said I am fine.  He nursed it on his own and never complained, condemned nor criticized. In my mind I was saying he's a bloody mess…laughing out loud. To him it was only a little scratch.
I said Glen; first of all I would have cried like a little girl and would not have returned to work for over a month. We laughed and then he went back to work as if nothing happened. He was a man of steel! Glen was a true servant in so many ways. He ran into the owner of the dog, talked with him, shook his hand and said I know it was an accident and then offered him something to drink. Forgiveness was an art for him and I surely have a lot to learn. I thank God for every precious moment I shared with him.
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right…Proverbs 20:11. His lord said unto him, well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord… Matthew 25:21.
Because he was a faithful servant God allowed him to serve over 65 years and live a great life up to 87 years old. I will miss you dearly my friend, now glad you finally took time off to go fishing in the secret place in the heavens; I will treasure your memories.
