Irene Veronica Henry passed away on May 2, 2022 at the age of 72. She was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica to Alfred & Doris Arjun. She was the eldest of eight children and was the cornerstone of her family. Irene spent her formative years enjoying school, teaching Sunday school to kids, and playing netball. In 1966, she met and married the love of her life, Ronald Henry Sr. They were married for 48 years until his death in 2014.
She was the absolute best mother to Yasmin, Ronald Jr., Shana, and Daniel. Irene was also the most loving grandmother to Jacqueline, Alexandra, Katherine, Daniel Jr., Nathaniel, and Arabella. Irene was also the caring older sister to surviving siblings Rudolph Arjun, Rosetta Singh, and Douglas Arjun and numerous cousins and relatives. Irene truly had a big heart and helped more people than one can count. She had always said, “Do good and it will come back to you”.
Irene was instrumental in working with Ron Sr., and they were quite the business team. They were described as the “packaged deal”. Together, they owned and operated successful businesses and invested in commercial and residential real estate. Irene represented calm, reason, and compassion. She was the stabilizing force in our lives. Irene had a positive effect on anyone who knew her well, and she will be sorely missed.
Visitation hours will be on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 8 am- 10 am. Services will start at 10 am at Harry A. Nauman and Son located at 4041 Freeport Boulevard, Sacramento, CA.
