Longtime Sacramento resident, James DeCicco, age 97, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 8, 2018. He was a man of honesty, goodness, courage, loyalty, and faith. He was predeceased by his wife, Adele, and is survived by his children, Robert (Margaret), Madeline (Clay), Thomas (Anne) and James (Rochelle) and adored by his grandchildren, Tony (Sheela with great grandchildren Sitara and Rohan), Katie (Ben with great grandchildren James and Joshua), Alex, Elizabeth, Louis and Joe.
He was born and raised in Kansas of Italian descent. From there, he served in the Army infantry in Europe where he fought in the battle of Bulge, during World War II. After the war was over, he met and married the love of his life, Adele until her death in 2008. He was a cheese maker at Crystal Creamery for 35 years. He was an avid gardener and he enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. A visitation to be held Friday, October 12, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00PM at Lombard Funeral Home, 1550 Fulton Avenue, Sac., CA and a Mass of Christian Burial to be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 7101 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights, CA.
