Jane Elizabeth Tejes

Jane passed away in the early morning hours on Tuesday, April 24, 2015 at Greenstar Residential Elder Care Facility in Sacramento. Jane Elizabeth Tejes was born June 12, 1930 in Fulton Illinois, the daughter of Earl (Born:1891/Died:1943) and Lucile (Born 1895/Died:1969) Ravis.

Following Earl’s early (Age 52) death, Lucile married Louie Cossman. A wonderful person who was a devoted husband and a wonderful father to Lucile’s 7 children, he was a blessing to them all.

Jane was united in marriage to William (Bill) Tejes on December 11, 1948 in Elgin, Illinois. They were married for 66 memory filled wonderful years. Their devotion was shown in many ways.

She was survived by her husband Bill, their children and spouses; Brian Tejes, Allen, TX, Cindy (Mike) Sexton, Salem, OR and John Tejes of Sacramento, five loving grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one sister, Evelyn Kurse of Fulton IL. Who is still living at the age of 100.

A consummate mother and homemaker, Jane was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. There was always an extra place at “Moms Table” for anyone who needed a meal with family. Jand had unwavering faith in God.

As a mother, she was very involved with the church, neighborhood bible study groups, school PTA and boy/girl scouts, while maintaining a balance between personal growth and family. Jane was a caregiver at heart; she naturally, without hesitation took on the caregiver role helping family members, close friends and neighbors as they found themselves aging or in difficult times. Jane was a faithful, sincere, true friend to many.
