

Janice is survived by husband, George Inglish, son Joseph Smith. and stepchildren; Toni (John), Billee (Josh), George II (Nhi), Howard (Brittany), David (Linda), 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Julie Giometti-Wahl (Duane) and niece Molly Wahl. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Josephine Giometti.
Janice was born on May 4, 1948 in Lodi, California. She graduated from California State University, Fresno in 1970 with a degree in Nursing. After graduation Janice began working for San Joaquin County Health Department as a clinical nurse. She eventually enlisted in the Air Force and was a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with the rank of Captain. Part of her service time was spent in Okinawa, Japan. Upon returning to the United States, she attended Loma Linda University and received her Masters of Science in Nursing. During Desert Shield/Desert Storm she was recalled to the Navy as a Lieutenant Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. After her discharge Janice resumed work for the State of California’s Department of Health. Janice ended her long career with the state as Branch Chief of the Department of Health Services.
Janice met George and they were married on October 10, 1999. They resided in Elk Grove before moving to Rancho Murieta in 2015. Janice was an avid golfer and the ability to be on a course every day held much appeal to her. She was a member of the Rancho Murieta Women’s Golf Club. She also became very active in the Rancho Murieta Niner’s Golf Club. She was co-chair of their Hospitality Committee that organized the annual Rancho Murieta Niner’s Golf Tournament. She valued the many friends she made at Rancho Murieta and appreciated the community that surrounded her. Janice was very grateful to all her friends who supported her during her fight with cancer.
Janice was a generous individual to her family, friends, and co-workers. She was very passionate about her family and held them close to her heart. Janice showed that love through her incredible cooking. Throughout the years she created many wonderful meals for family and friends.
A private burial will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA. A celebration of Janice’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Sacramento SPCA at 6201 Florin-Perkins Rd., Sacramento, CA 95828. The family would like to thank the 4th floor staff at Mercy San Juan in Carmichael, CA for their dedication and kindness they provided to Janice while in their care.
Janice will be missed but not forgotten.
