Jeffrey Garnier, Carmichael CA, passed away suddenly on November 17, 2015 at age 59. A native of Indiana, he grew up in Crown Point. He moved to California in 1972 and graduated from California State University, Chico with a B.A. in Accounting & Economics where he was also a volunteer fireman. Jeff began his professional career with the Franchise Tax Board (“FTB”) in 1982. He made many friends at work where he eventually met his beloved wife, Rachel. Jeff was a man of many talents: he was a CPA, Real Estate Broker, Entrepreneur (California Capitol Realty), skilled carpenter; and built two beautiful homes for his family. He retired in 2012 but continued to work for the FTB part time, while growing his real estate business along with building their dream home in anticipation of Rachel’s retirement. Jeff loved his family and the outdoors, he enjoyed boating, water skiing, camping and eventually RV’ing, but mostly Jeff loved building things. Always busy and always with multiple projects in the hopper, he could always find time for a friend in need. Jeff was exceedingly bright with a quick wit and loved to laugh and joke. Outgoing and kind, he had a soft spot for those less fortunate. He was everyone’s friend, the life of the party, and loved by many.
Jeff was the 7th of 8 children of Albert and Jeanette (Guzzo) Garnier. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rachel, 3 sons Emilio (Janelle), Christopher, Nicholas, 7 siblings Al (Jolinda), Janet (Henry), Michael (Peggy), Tom (Laura), Suzanne (David), Mary Jo (Jeff), and Cathy (Harry) plus several nieces & nephews.
Services will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the Nicoletti Funeral Home 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Habitat for Humanity.
