

Joel was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He shared 21 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Melissa, and together they built a family that meant everything to him. He was a devoted father to his three children, Alexis, Avah, and Dominic.
Joel had a love for the simple things that brought joy to life. He loved spending time on the golf course, attending baseball games, and cheering on his favorite teams, the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers. Those who knew Joel will remember the things he loved, the memories he created with his family, and the place he held in the hearts of so many people.
Joel is survived by his wife of 21 years, Melissa, and his three children, Alexis, Avah, and Dominic.
He is also survived by his parents, Dianne and Mark Neighbors and Richard and Sharon Mathews; his brothers, Nathan (Gisela) and Micah and his half-brother, Mike. He is also survived by his stepsisters, Becky (Sean), Jennifer (Jimmy), and Michelle (Mike), as well as his nieces Makayla, Alycia, Sophia, Sydney, Zoe, and Mia
He is also survived by his aunts, Terri (Rory), Wanda, and Connie; his uncle, Bert (Debbie); and numerous cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Joel was preceded in death by his grandparents, his Aunt Leslie, and his parents-in-law, Dave and Irene Farmer.
Joel leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love with them always. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Services
Viewing will be held Thursday, September 17, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 18, at St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church at 10:00 am.
Burial will follow mass at the National Cemetery in Dixon.
