

John V. Tzouras, born January 30, 1924 in Korfes Achaias, Greece passed away on March 3, 2013 after a short illness surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Antiope; two daughters Magdalene (Ted) Bourdaniotis, Terri (Rick) Barton; seven grandchildren Sandra (Chris), PJ (Vicky), Maggie, Theon, Jonathan, Robert and Matthew; 2 great-grand children Giana and Magdalene; 3 sisters Dina, Violeta and Toula and many nieces and nephews.
John came to the United States in 1968 with his family. He was self-employed as carpenter. He loved his family which he referred to as “his village”. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening and preparing the traditional Easter lamb dinner every year. John served as a sergeant in the Greek Army during The Greek Civil War, was president of the Peloponnesian Society and a member of the Greek Annunciation Church in Sacramento. “Pappou Yianni” will be missed by all who knew him.
Trisagion will be on Thursday March 7th at 7:00 pm at Nicoletti, Culijis & Herberger Funeral Home 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8th at 11:00 am at Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 600 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento.
