Joseph Robert Kramer Jr.

Joseph Robert Kramer passed away December 27, 2024. He was born in Buffalo, New York to Joseph Robert Kramer Sr. and Marie Claire Boyer on November 27, 1939. After graduating from Kensington High School he volunteered for service in the US Army and became a member of the 101st Airborne. While serving he met his future wife Wanda Ramsey on a visit to his buddy Guy's home in southern Indiana. Joe earned a B.S. degree in geology from Indiana University and a Master’s degree in Library Science from State University of New York. Joe and Wanda married in Buffalo New York where their two sons, James Arthur and Earl Joseph were born. The family moved to Redwood City, California in 1965. Joe served as a Special Librarian at Apex Corp and later Boeing Aerospace near Seattle, Washington. In 1971 Joe was appointed as a reference Liberian at CSUS Sacramento Ca. He retired in 1999 as head of the science reference department. Joe was a voracious reader of nonfiction, particularly history and science. His other interest was wine making. Joe and his friends started the Sacramento Home winemakers in which he served as second president. Joes was preceded by his parents and his brothers Ronald and Robert Kramer. A celebration of his life will be held at the family home at a future date.
