Joyce Rae Agosta

Joyce Rae Agosta (Kaucher) was born on June 7, 1933 in Norman, CA. She passed away on June 19, 2026 in Elk Grove, CA at the age of 93. Joyce is survived by her daughter Elizabeth, son Frankie, daughter-in-law Sallie, grandchildren Kaitlin, Nick, Jake and great grandchildren Everett Agosta and Cooper Pineau. She was preceded by her husband Thomas Agosta Jr. and siblings Ruth Farley, Frank Kaucher, Harriet Crawshaw, and Verna Kaucher.

Joyce attended Sutter Junior High School and Sacramento High School. After her graduation in 1951, she starting working at McClellan AFB as the first female taxi dispatcher. In 1956, Joyce married her high school sweetheart Thomas. She left McClellan AFB to travel with Thomas during his baseball career. In the late 1950’s, Joyce began her career with the State of California. In 1992, Joyce retired from the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Joyce was an active parent volunteer at John Cabrillo Elementary School and for the John F Kennedy High School Marching Band. She enjoyed family gatherings and attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Joyce loved spending time with her family, friends, neighbors, and pets. She will be fondly remembered for her kind, supportive, and optimistic outlook on life. Joyce will be deeply missed.
