Born August 9, 1931, in Detroit, MI; Julianne Marie Billeci (Smith) passed from this earth on August 15, 2012, in Fair Oaks, at home surrounded by family and friends. Her family moved to Richmond, CA in the 1930s, taking old Route 66, where growing up, she attended Richmond High School and San Francisco State College. She married Whitfield Billeci, a WWII veteran, on August 7, 1954. Mom and dad were blessed with 56 years of marriage and four fortunate children. To have a mom that cared about everything the kids focused on was truly a gift from God. She spared no pains to insure the welfare of her beloved children. Her counsel and example were not lost on us, but as good seed sown on good ground, her instructions sprang forth into lives of good order and usefulness. She shared her faith, time, energy, and strength. She was a former teacher. She also attended her plants and precious cats. But most of all, mom loved her husband, children and grandchildren, supporting their various paths through life, and she will be sorely missed. We love her for all the precious memories; her eternal gain is our great loss. She was preceded in death by our beloved father in 2010; her parents, John Martin Smith and Julia (Kecskes). She is survived by brothers John and Joe; sons Mark, Cameron, Benjamin and daughter Celesta; daughters-in-law Lynne, Romel, and Kristen; son-in-law John Hajda; grandchildren, Jessica (Neighbours), Isabel, Emily and Alexander; and cousin Adam Neighbours. Her Requiem and Life Celebration will be held at St. Mel's Catholic Church, 4745 Pennsylvania Ave., Fair Oaks, on Friday, August 31st, at 10 a.m. Funeral arrangements are by Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95819, 451-7284. A private burial service will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
