Ke Xiang Saelee
November 3, 1945 – December 28, 2019
Ke Xiang Saelee, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and close friends on Saturday, December 28, 2019. Ke grew up in the hills of Laos, lost her mother at the age of 8, became a caregiver to her three younger siblings and never stopped loving and caring for others ever since. Her upbringing from the hills of Laos taught her well living the farm life. She grew a passion for people, animals and all living things, harvesting crops and attending to everyday labor work. She became an artisan in embroidery and grew a passion in making food and cultural mien desserts. Her ability to innately be a source of love and care for others ultimately became her calling for motherhood and raising her own family. Ke, her husband and 2 oldest sons refuged to new life in the United States fleeing from Laos during The Secret War. She and her family arrived in Seattle, Washington in 1980, moved to Maryland shortly after to work in a nursery, and finally settling into California where Sacramento ultimately became home. Ke is survived by her husband and best friend of 55 years, Veun Ho Saelee, their 5 sons, a daughter, 10 grandchildren, a great-grandson and many life-long friends. Her calm spirit and patience will forever be missed but her legacy of love will live on.
Funeral services will include a viewing on Thursday, at Nicoletti Culjis & Herberger located at 5401 Folsom Blvd. in Sacramento, California from 9:00-11:00am followed by burial at 11:30am Camellia Memorial Lawn at 10221 Jackson Road, Sacramento, CA 95827
