I knew Kelly when she was just a little girl in Fair Oaks, Ca.  She was so smart and funny , full of life. Im sorry to hear of her passing about a year ago. Love to the family , Lois Karlstedt

Kelly, you were such a beautiful soul, a sweet, dear, lovable goofball. So full of life. It broke my heart to hear the news of your passing. Thank you for reaching out and re-connecting six months ago. It made a difference.

Kelly G. was a dear friend of our daughter Kelly Flaherty. I remember a picnic she made for us many years ago when the two Kelly's were working at the San Jose Mercury news. Our picnic on the top of Mount Hamilton was filled with wonderful gourmet delights all provided by Kelly G.   I also remember how beautiful she looked in a big hat at our 50th anniversary party.  She was a very special young woman.

Kelly and I shared a classroom at Woodcreek.  While I didn't sit in on a class period, I got to see her interactions with students and they were always positive.  It was easy to see they liked her and she liked them.  Whenever I popped in to grab something, she always had a smile and a fun remark.  We had several discussions and she really knew her art and artists.  I truly liked her goofy sense of humor.  Her passing was such a shock and she will be missed.

I remember Kelly and your family when our children were in Colfax High School together, we all lived in Christian Valley. Our girls, Mary and Lori George were friends with your girls. Kelly was a sweet girl, always happy, polite, a beautiful girl. Our deepest sympathy to the entire Gastman family. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I had Ms. Gastman as a journalism teacher last year as a freshman at Woodcreek. She was a funny, talented, and an inspiring teacher. She will be missed.

I was a student of Ms. Gastman my freshman year at Woodcreek High School. I knew that I was interested in photography but I never knew how much I would appreciate the beautiful art until I encountered Ms. Gastman. Her bright smile and melodic laugh was contagious. Her outlook on life was one I have never encountered before. She was so spirited and thoughtful about everything she came across and I admired that about her. I am thankful for everything that she taught me. Not only about photography, but more importantly, about how to appreciate the little things in life and to not take anything for granted. My deepest condolences to her family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I was Kelly's Editor-In-Chief for her Woodcreek High School yearbook class. She was the only teacher I've stayed in contact with. She even used to come visit me at my Starbucks and chit chat with me, it was never hard to have a conversation. She was always so fun-loving and spunky! I will always remember her sense of style, outrageous personality, and incredible creativity. I offer great condolences to her family that she loved with all of her heart. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't have a new story to tell about how much she loved, appreciated, and admired her darling family.

I hardly got the chance to work along side of Kelly, but I have gotten the chance to work with the students she had chosen and taught through yearbook. She blessed me with a great staff and a wonderful group of editors to continue the work and progress in yearbook. I think is says a lot about a person when students remember them fondly and can recount the numerous ways they were impacted and helped by a teacher like Kelly.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Kelly always had a smile on her face when I saw her here at Woodcreek. Please know you have my prayers in this difficult time.

I will always remember Kelly's creativity and originality.  I am so sorry for your loss.

Kelly's positive, cheerful attitude day in day out was so nice to encounter every day at work.  Her dedication to the students was evident in the countless hours she spent after school and on the weekends.  Also, her enthusiasm for her family was contagious as she would talk about her nieces and nephews.  She was extra proud of her nephew who plays high school basketball as she would share his successes with such great enthusiasm.  I will miss seeing her as a sub and wish all her family good thoughts as they deal with this terrible tragedy.

I will always remember Kelly's vibrant, fun spirit. My daughter took her photography class last year and loved the creativity she inspired in her students. Kelly was personality plus with a big heart, and she will truly be missed.

My heart goes out to Kelly's family. I'm sorry for your loss. We shared quite a few memorable conversations while she worked at Lincoln. She taught in a classroom within view of my classroom and I spoke with her each and every day. Hugs!

I am so saddened by the news of Kelly's passing!  She was such a creative and caring colleague!  What a wonderful mark she left on all of us at Woodcreek!  Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers!

I was Kelly's BTSA coach and will always remember her for her fun sense of humor and thoughtfulness. She was very kind and I remember how much she believed in her students and communicated that belief to them. She will be missed by many. Prayers for your family.

She was my favorite teacher. She didn't treat me like just any other kid she saw potential in me. She helped me to realize my talents as a writer and she gave me the courage to be a leader and editor. I'm going to miss her like alll her students will. She made people happy.

I miss Kelly.  I lived downstairs from her.

I am so sorry to hear of her passing.  I remember her as always doing crafty, artsy projects on her balcony and I would yell up to her and ask her about what she was doing.
