Le Hong (February 27, 1942 – April 16, 2016). Vietnamese refugee, loyal friend, and loving mother. Le defied statistics, fighting cancers for ten years. Though her mind and will were faithfully determined to survive, her body was not. She fought ‘til her last breath, defying many medical expectations.
Her compassion was uncanny – quick to give her only coat, sit and mourn with others, and put great care to every meal she prepared. She showed love through her food, her tears, and her company.
She lives on in many ways, including through the lessons we’ve learned from her just by being around her. She is already missed. She’ll always be beloved.
