Lenora Aubin

Nora is survived by her children, David (Sandy), Mary, Julie Blum (Kelly), and Randy (Janice). Grandchildren: Allison, Zachary, Isaac, and Sarah. Great-grandchildren: Aleyha, Oliver, Olivia, Lanora (Nora), Ayla, and Luke.

She is preceded in death by parents Enos and Julia Curtis, brother Winfield Curtis, and granddaughter Stephanie Aubin.

Nora was born on March 27, 1926, in Sacramento, California to Enos and Julia Curtis. She attended neighborhood schools at El Dorado Elementary School and Kit Carson Middle School, graduating from Sacramento High School in 1944.

As a young woman, she worked as a medical secretary until 1951, when she married Albert Aubin and became a stay-at-home wife and mother for her growing family. When her husband started his own business in 1953, she took on the administrative duties for their family business, along with her duties as a busy wife and mother. She was a supportive wife and companion for the love of her life, her husband Al.

Nora was actively involved in her children’s lives, becoming a den mother for her boy scout sons, and a leader for girl scout daughters. She made sure her children learned how to care for a home, to sew and cook, and saw that they had music and dance lessons, as well as having numerous fun-filled adventures and activities as they grew up.

The family enjoyed countless, memorable days visiting family and friends, picnicking, camping, skiing, exploring the Sierra, and family vacations across the US and into Canada.

At home Nora enjoyed playing the piano and was an accomplished pianist in classical as well as popular music. She and her husband spent many hours playing a variety of songs together. She loved dogs, cats, babies, and her home, spending hours outdoors creating beautiful gardens surrounding the family home.

Her achievements are displayed in her children: she was a wonderful mother. That she raised children who became capable, resilient, decent men and women of integrity was her lasting achievement.

Nora was a devoted mother, who encouraged her family to work hard, pursue their goals, and to enjoy life. She was kind, gentle, and compassionate, and was much loved by all her family and friends. We will miss her dearly.

Visitation and funeral will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger, with a reception to follow.
