Linda Gail Hagedorn, born September 3, 1951, in San Francisco, California, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, after a brief but courageous fight with cancer.
Linda was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit touched everyone around her. She shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Roger Hagedorn. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, travel, family, and friendship.
Linda is survived by her husband, Roger; her daughters, Lisa and Christine; her grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Linda Riegel; her niece, Michelle Riegel; her niece, Julie Mero; and her nephew, Ron Mero and several relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Lester Riegel, and her siblings, Mary Jamison and John Riegel.
As a mother to Lisa Romo and Christine De Leon, and a loving mother-in-law to Lisa’s husband, Frankie Romo II, Linda was a constant source of love, support, and warmth. Her family was at the heart of her life, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Lukus (Lily) and Nicole Nascimento and Amelie and Diego Martinez, and she warmly embraced her grandchildren through marriage: Jordan Romo, Julien Romo, Antonio Romo, Frankie Romo III, Terrell Romo, and Tyana Romo-Leccima.
Linda had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, included, and cared for. She maintained treasured friendships with former high school classmates and professional colleagues from her long careers at Pacific Bell and the California State Employment Development Department, while also making new friends everywhere she went, including through her involvement with the Red Hat Society and her ongoing membership at Weight Watchers. To know Linda was to know a loyal and giving friend who brought fun, kindness, and genuine connection into the lives of others.
Linda and Roger loved traveling together, visiting family and friends in Montana and Oregon and exploring national parks across the United States. More recent trips to Maui and Alaska brought together two of her greatest joys—family and friends. Linda also delighted in sharing her love of theater and musicals with her daughters and grandchildren, often attending several productions each year in Sacramento and San Francisco.
Linda’s legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless people who were made to feel special in her presence. Her warmth, generous heart, and fun-loving spirit will be remembered always, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a cause dear to Linda. She was a regular donor to St. Jude’s Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and Alzheimer’s Association.
Details for Linda’s Celebration of Life are being finalized and will be shared as soon as they are available.
