

Lori Lynne Chan passed away on August 30, 2026. It was a pleasant morning at her loving caregiver’s home in Elk Grove. Born on November 20, 1960, she was the beloved daughter of Stephen and Violet Chan. Lori lived a full life filled with love of family, friends and God.
Lori is survived by her father, Stephen Chan, sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Herb Tsang, brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Fern Chan, brother, Daron and Denise, nephews, Garrett and Travis Tsang.
Lori lived her entire life in Sacramento, going to C.P. Huntington & Caroline Wenzel Elementary Schools, then Sam Brannan Junior High and graduating from John F Kennedy High School. Lori attended Sacramento City College, then SF State University and UC Davis for a short time. She returned to Sacramento City College to earn her AA degree.
Lori was employed by the State of California for 27 years, working as a receptionist and attendance coordinator for the Office of Legal Services, Department of Health Care Services.
Lori had challenges in her life, but she faced them with tenacious determination. She lived by this Confucius proverb: “Our greatest glory is NOT in never failing, but rising every time we fall.”
Lori was an active member of the Chinese Grace Bible Church. She made a trip to China with the ERRC mission group to teach University students conversational English. Lori also traveled to England to work with missionaries, Larry and Kathleen Leach. This work lasted for over 10 years.
Lori enjoyed entertaining. She invited friends and family for meals and even to bake and decorate cookies. Lori adored kids. She has lots of photos with her arms wrapped around a cute little baby or toddler. She wanted to make them feel special. Lori did fun creative, artistic things for her 2 nephews, Garrett and Travis. Lori loved flowers and made many beautiful flower arrangements for her family.
Lori’s smile and laughter will be deeply missed. She brought treasured times to her friends and family. Her kindness touched the lives of many.
