from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place."
Louise Reardon passed away on Saturday February 10th in Gold River. She was born in the early Twentieth Century to a ranching family in the San Joaquin Valley and was a proud third generation native Californian.
After graduating from San Jose State College where she was affiliated with the Delta Gamma sorority she settled in Sacramento in 1941. There she started her teaching career with Grant Union High School teaching business skills. Her passion for teaching never waned and later when she was with the Sacramento City Unified School District she founded the first public school for court reporters in the state. She continued to teach late into life and her work changed the lives of the many students that she influenced over the years.
Louise’s friends and family are comforted with the knowledge that in her 101 years she lived a long and happy life full of accomplishments and lasting memories made in California and Sacramento, the City that she loved. She is now reunited with her loving husband Edward Reardon and her sister Barbara Gisvold who preceded her.
She is survived by her son David Reardon, daughter Patricia Reardon, daughter in law Christine Reardon, son in law Barry Sardis, grandson John Reardon and her beloved cat Elfie.
A Celebration of Life service is currently being planned.
