Margaret Julia Eaker

Margaret "Peggy" Eaker born June 2, 1934, in Brooklyn New York to parents Margaret and Henry Raab. Peggy passed away peacefully on May 8, 2018. She attended Erasmus Hall High school in New York before marrying Lloyd Eaker of the US Air Force in 1951. They had three children, Lawrence Eaker born in Brooklyn New York, Mark Eaker born in Germany, and Linda Eaker Edwards born in Sacramento, Ca. Peggy worked for the DMV for 24 years before retiring. She traveled the globe visiting Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, France and Italy with her many good friends. Peggy was blessed with five grandchildren: Matthew Eaker, Alona Eaker Harris, Ryan Eaker, Austin Eaker, and Natalie Migdal. She also had five great-grandchildren Abby, Ryan, Ethan, Ava, Ripley, and Henry on the way. Peggy spent the last several years of her life in Grants Pass Oregon living with her daughter Linda and son-in-law Glenn Edwards. There she formed beautiful relationships and became like a mother to many. She loved traveling and enjoyed trips to the coast, movies, family dinners and long car rides. Her fun loving attitude and zest for life earned her the loving nickname "Crazy Nana". Peggy will be best remembered for her love of Frank Sinatra, old movies, Irish traditions, Rockette dance moves and her beautiful happy smile. Peggy is survived by Lawrence Eaker, Kathy Migdal, Suzanne Eaker, and Linda Edwards as well as her beloved grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Mark Eaker.

Visiation 5pm to 9pm and Rosary 7pm will be Thursday May 17th at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home 5401 Folsom Blvd Sacramento, Ca. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 1333 58th St, Sacramento, Ca on May 18th at 11:30am with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. A gathering will follow at the Family Home.

I will never ever forget Nana. What a smart, funny and joyful woman! I'm so happy I was invited to attend her 80th birthday bash, and will never forget that awesome birthday bag (Black Velvet, Sinatra CD, smiley face birthday t shirt)! I can just imagine the joy she's experiencing now, and hoping she'll meet my Mom...they would have been two peas in a pod! Praying for peace and comfort for you all. What beautiful memories she has left you all! xoxox =^^=
