OBITUARY

Margaret A. Gutierrez

July 11, 1935September 29, 2019

Margaret was born July 11, 1935 in Ascencion, a city in northern Chihuahua Mexico. Margaret entered paradise from Sacramento, California on September 29, 2019. At the age of 84 years. Ascension: As defined in Christianity, is the bodily rising of Jesus into heaven on the 40th day after his Resurrection. Sacrament: As defined by Christianity is the rite that is believed to have been ordained by Christ and that is held to be a means of divine grace or to be a sign or symbol of a spiritual reality. Preceded in death by her husband Leo Gutierrez, Margaret Gutierrez, affectionately known as "Magge" to her husband and family. She lost a courageous battle with cancer in her home, surrounded by family and loved ones. Magge is survived by her children, Vicky Macias, Jesse Gutierrez, Connie Valles, Junior Gutierrez, and many loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Magge also leaves loved ones behind in the states of Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. In 1953 Margaret married the love of her life, Leopoldo Gutierrez, in Tooele, Utah and would eventually give birth to four surviving children. Magge’ and Leo’s destiny led them to California where they would raise their family in Sacramento. Unafraid of hard work, Magge’ picked fruit in the fields, held her head high as a maid, and retired with dignity from the Campbell Soup Company after 20 plus years as a liner operator. Magge’ would tell you her biggest accomplishment would be raising her family with a foundation built on faith, hope, prayer, and love. Raised a Catholic, Magge’ discovered Christianity in 1984 and devoted the rest of her life to being a daughter of Christ and a Pentecostal prayer warrior. She had found a friend in the Holy Spirit and wanted to spread the seed of salvation to everyone she knew. She and her “Prayer Warriors” from her local church would eventually meet weekly at her home, taking names and creating lists to pray for any and all in need of healing and strength. Magge truly loved music and dancing. She enjoyed collecting angels and admired butterflies every chance she got. Blessed with the biggest heart imaginable, Magge’ made it her life goal to give. As a devoted wife, she gave to her husband. As a caring mother, she gave to her kids. As a loving grandma, she gave to her grandchildren. As a daughter of Christ, she would ultimately give her life to Jesus. It is the hope of Magge’s children that her legacy of faith, love, and servitude will lead to the salvation of you and your loved ones so that one day, beyond the flesh, our spirits will meet again in a common paradise. God Bless! A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11AM at Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home, 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, California.
