Margaret Morgan was born in 1945 in Los Angeles, California to Clayton and Irene Hanson. She was the fifth of fourteen children. She passed away recently after a long illness on July 3, 2026 in Sacramento, California.
After meeting in high school, Margaret married Bob Morgan in November of 1965. They soon had two sons, Bob and Tim. After moving to Novato in northern California in the early 80’s, she became a real estate agent in the Marin County area. But before too long she found that she enjoyed the brokerage side of the business more. She started her own real estate brokerage business that she led for many years. Later she moved to the GMAC company and became a Vice President, overseeing their corporate relocation department.
Always one to keep looking for the next opportunity, while getting ready to retire from real estate in the late 2000’s, Margaret started her own travel agent business. She enjoyed cruising and went on many trips with her husband and other family members. She ended up exploring the world, from the Americas, to Europe, to Russia, to the Middle East. She also enjoyed shopping, especially for gifts for her sisters and grandkids. She enjoyed cooking for the family, often displaying a magical ability to produce a gourmet meal from whatever was lying around the kitchen.
Margaret will be remembered not just for her intelligence, drive, and business acumen, but mostly for her kindness and warmth. She is survived by her husband Bob, sons Bob and Tim, daughters-in-law Julie and Pam, and grandkids Emily, Dana, and Jacob, along with brothers and sisters and a large extended family all over the country.
Memorial arrangements are forthcoming. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
