Mariette Beaudoin was born in Drummondville, Québec, Canada on March 3, 1929. In 1945 she began dating a young boy, who became the love of her life, Gerald Beaudoin. They married on May 20, 1950 and remained devoted to each other until his sudden death on October 9, 2012.
In June of 1968, tired of the harsh Québec winters, they moved to Santa Monica, California. In the late 1970’s, they moved to Monterey County on a ranch where they were able to enjoy the country life with horses, cows, ducks, chickens and an occasional visiting buffalo. After retirement, they sold everything and traveled across the country in a 5th Wheel trailer visiting all 49 states and later established themselves in Sacramento while spending the winter months on Oahu, Hawaii.
Mariette loved to play slot machines at the casinos, celebrating almost every New Year’s Eve at a casino and was determined to win the lotto one day. Her other loves were McDonald’s, the Game Show Network and the Sacramento Kings.
She died on January 25, 2024. She is survived by her three daughters, Ghislaine, Huguette and Lynn, her 5 grandchildren, Tangia, Morgan, Taylor (Matt), Andre (Jocelyn) and Jonathan (Briah), her 5 great grandchildren and her two brothers, Normand Cusson and Réal Cusson in Québec.
