Mary Kathryn Pickens-Manning

November 21, 1955 – July 13, 2026

Mary Kathryn Pickens-Manning passed away peacefully at her home in Sacramento, California, on July 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lillian K. Horvath Manning.

She leaves to cherish her memory her three loving children: Natasharoschon Horton, Alfredo Manning, and Byron Manning.

Mary was the proud grandmother of Marcellous Johnson, Marquay Johnson-McCaulie, Kenji Horton II, Kenjion Horton, Kiaaja Horton, Sha’Asha Johnson-Thomas, Kenjion Royal Horton II, Shira Davis, Adrien Staats, Alfredo Jr., and Aja Gordon Smalls.

She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Liberty Johnson, Xa’Vion Johnson, Za’Maiya Johnson, Malaiya Johnson, Mar’Shon Johnson, Qua’Mar Johnson, Kenjion Royal Horton II, Messiah Nelson, Benjamin Davis, and Julian Staats.

Mary is also survived by her brother, Scott Collins, along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love, wisdom, and generosity.
