Michael Jay Maslowski passed away peacefully on 10 October 2017 at his home in Sacramento, just four weeks before his 54th birthday. Jason Lindo, his beloved husband of nine years and soul-mate of 27 years, was at his side along with close friends and his beloved cocker spaniels Skippy, Charlie and Sadie. Michael was the only son and youngest child of Edward and Gertrude Maslowski, both deceased. He was born on 6 November 1963 in Vallejo, CA. Michael is survived by his husband Jason Lindo, sisters, Camille Kemper, Trudy Eisen, Joyce Williams and several nieces and nephews, Jason's large extended family both in California and Hawaii and many friends. Michael graduated from California State University, Sacramento, in 2004, with a BA in Government and Journalism. He worked in the Office of the State Printer for 8.5 years. According to colleagues, Michael's legacy of meticulousness in his work will live on in the many significant documents of our state to which he contributed. Michael loved the home and garden he built with Jason and more than half-a-dozen rescued Cocker Spaniels over the years. His dogs gave him great comfort in his four-year battle against multiple myeloma. He avidly followed current affairs, both in print and on television, and he was a long-time "Star Trek" Fan. Michael prized order and stability. Though he was not usually demonstrative, he possessed a keen sense of humor and had an infectious laugh. Michael was an active member of Congregation B'nai Israel and cherished the love and support of his congregational family who were very active in his care and in supporting Jason during the last weeks of Michael's illness. Family, friends, and co-workers are invited to a memorial service for Michael Maslowski at Congregation B'nai Israel, 3600 Riverside Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95818 at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 19, 2017. Donations in Michael's memory may be made to NorCal Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Congregation B'nai Israel, The International Myeloma Foundation or the charity of your choice. Arrangements under the direction of Lombard Funeral Home, Sacramento, CA.
