

Michael Ignacio Plescia was born on August 11, 1925 in Escondido, California to parents Andrew and Sarah Plescia, immigrants from Sicily. His family was in the farming business in Southern California for the first 17 years of his life, when in 1943 he moved with his family to Sacramento.
Michael graduated from C.K. McClatchy High School in 1944. He served in the US Army as a paratrooper in World War II from 1944 to 1946 when discharged with honors. In 1946 he married Ann LaBrasca and they had two children – Sarah Marie Plescia and Andrew Plescia. Later in his life he married Patricia (Seavers) Evans.
Michael was a general building contractor for over 50 years. His most joyous memories were being with his large family and working in his carpentry shop. He was known as “Notch” to many, and was a talented woodworker, a loving and dedicated son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and loyal friend.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Plescia, brother George Plescia, sister-in-law Patricia Plescia, his daughter, son and daughter-in-law Joan Drayton, grandchildren Lisa Plescia, Bryan Plescia and partner Steven Jablonski, Shondee Kinne, Carl Kinne, great grandchildren Max Kinne, Keira Aspillera, and Kai Aspillera, nieces and nephews including Jim DeVine and wife Laurie, Sarah (Plescia) Boras and husband Gerry, George Plescia and wife Melissa, and great nieces and nephews including Marisa Boras and Tessa Plescia. Preceded in death by his father and mother, mother of his children (Ann Plescia), sister (Cecilia Plescia DeVine), brother-in-law James L. DeVine and co-patriarch of the Plescia family – Joseph Plescia. In addition, he is survived by the children of his wife, Gail Peters (Rick) and children Madison and Cameron, Joanne Zavala (Alfredo) and children Andrée and Alex, and Brad Evans.
Michael passed away on April 5, 2016. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on April 14, 2016 at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819.
