Born on the first day of summer, June 21, 1936 in the Canal Zone of Panama and went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2016 in Sacramento, CA. Noris enjoyed the soulful sounds of R&B oldies in which she would dance the night away. Noris often enjoyed a good game of bowling or softball in her prime. She could even keep a little rhythm on the drums. She loved animals and was afraid it seemed, of nothing. She would be entertained with snakes or lizards that she often found hiding in her daughter’s bedroom. Noris was married to Donald Louis Johnson and together had 4 children, Karen, Edwin, Marvin and Rodney. Edwin seemed to find favor most of all with his mother, probably because he is quite the dancer like her, Marvin is the good looking one, Rodney stands tall and strong, and her daughter Karen kept Noris on her toes. In 1983 Noris and Donald did divorce, but had remained close. She never did stop loving him and he cared for her until the end. Noris is survived by Donald, her 4 children, 6 grandchildren (Navin, Jaciara, Mariah, Marcus, Ryland and Roman), 1 great granddaughter Vinaya, and her brother Buddy, plus many family loving family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She will be remembered for her lady like and gentle demeanor, and the beauty she had inside and out. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11am – 12pm, Friday, Sept 16 at Calvary Christian Center, 2667 Del Paso Road in Sacramento with a funeral service to follow at 12pm.
