Olivia Mary Nelson

March 19, 1933April 6, 2021

Olivia Mary Nelson passed away on April 6th, 2021 at the age of 88. Olivia was born on March 19, 1933 to Nellie Medina in Colorado. Olivia spent her early career working for Libby, McNeill & Libby and was one of their first female forklift drivers. The rest of her career was spent at the Sacramento Unified School District where she worked as a plant manager. Olivia was very active in her church and spent much time delivering food to seniors and performing other volunteer activities. She had a love for traveling in her motorhome and developed many friendships along the way. Olivia had a strong faith in God and passed that along to her family.

Olivia was predeceased by her mother Nellie, her brother Fred Cruz and her dauther-in-law Elaine Sanchez. She is survived by her children Joe Anttonelli (Alexandra), Rose Sciacca (Rich), Veronica Medrano, Tim Avila (Lisa), John Sanchez, Jr (Sally) and grandchildren Ashley, Krystle, Allison, Billy, Rich, Kelly, Danny, Anthony, TA, Camille, Kristi, Brittany, Jamie and many great grandchildren.

Olivia will be remembered for her welcoming nature, the smile that was ever present on her face and her homemade fresh tortillas. She loved her family and friends deeply.

Viewing will be held on May 7th at Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home, 4041 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento at 9:00am with a Rosary to follow at 10:00am. Burial will be at St Mary’s Cemetery, 6509 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento at 1:00pm with a reception to follow.
