

Panayiota is survived by her children Becky, Milton, and Andrew; grandchildren Savvas (Akis), Panayiota (Katie), Alexia, Constantine, Georgia, Nikos, Savvas, and Angelo; siblings George, John and Fotini. She is preceded in death by her husband Spero and siblings Theodore, Eugenia, and Anna.
Panayiota was born on Aug 7,1932 in Tourlada, Greece to Paraskevi and Panayiotis Kazanis. She married Spero, a pharmacist, in 1962. After moving to Sacramento, Panayiota began working for I-Magnin/Macys as a seamstress. Panayiota is remembered as a loving and caring woman that would go out of her way to help family and others. She was a skilled cook, and nobody was allowed to leave her home hungry. She was an active and dedicated member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Sacramento.
A Trisagion service is scheduled for Sunday, Jan 9 at 6 PM at Nicoletti’s funeral home and a funeral is scheduled for Monday, Jan 10 at 10 AM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Sacramento, with a Makaria reception to follow at the Church Hall. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Panayiota’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Sacramento. The family would like to thank Fr. Timothy Robinson and presvytera Marsha, Empire Ranch Alzheimer’s care home and Latreia Hospice for their efforts, love, and care towards Panayiota.
