Patrick Glaves was born and raised in Sacramento. He loved to socialize in small groups and gifted you his full attention. His memory was keen enough that he could tell you what you wore, ate, or talked about the last time he saw you, reaching back decades. He liked to tape short clips from television programs he knew you would like. He was a gifted mimic with a sharp wit.
At one time he followed many indie bands and watched fringe and cult films he discovered while working at Tower Video. He collected every book, film, and photo of Marilyn Monroe.
He loved the styles of the 1930’s and collected deals on antiques or remakes from Craig’s List and IKEA. His home was artfully decorated with blue glass, mirrors, and original sculptures.
He spoiled and later deeply grieved for his pets: Edna, Andy, Harry, Mocha, and Klaus.
Pat is mourned by his brothers Chris and Rich, and his sister Jennifer. Sisters-in-law Cynthia and Clara will retell Pat’s jokes and stories. His nephews Sam and Colin, and nieces Catherine and Ashley will miss him passing them candy and exchanging secrets. Donations in Pat’s memory are encouraged to keep Sacramento’s pet shelters open:
