Age 89. Beloved friend of the late Dorothy Rogers; husband of the late Cleone Zafferano; brother of George Zafferano of Belmont, CA; father of Rosanne Zafferano-Smith of Ft. Worth, TX and Pauline Damron of Corning, CA; grandfather of 7 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 7. Paul was born in New York City and retired from the Sacramento City Fire Department in 1977 after 25 years of service as a Firefighter. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Flight Engineer in WWII, flying Long Range missions over Europe on the B-24. Paul was a member of the Sacramento B.P.O.E. since 1945. He was an avid Handball player, U.S.H.A. member since 1950, and was a City Handball Champion for many years, having won numerous Handball Tournaments. A Visitation will take place on Wed., Nov. 7th from 4-7pm and Funeral Service on Thurs., Nov. 8th at 11am. Both will be held at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd. Sacramento, CA, (916) 451-7284. Funeral Service presided by Sacramento Elks #6 Lodge Offices. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery following the Service.
