It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Ah Tye announces his passing from declining health after hip replacement surgery, on Sunday, February 26, at the age of 97 years.
Raymond was born in Oakland, CA on February 22, 1915, to Rose and Dilly Ah Tye Senior. He was the 7th child of 15 children. He attended Stockton High School where he ran track and played tennis. He attended UC Berkeley and became an Assistant Transportation Engineer for Caltrans where he worked for 29+ years.
Raymond was married to Audrey for 70 wonderful years and will be lovingly remembered by her and their children, daughter Michelle Lew and son Dale Ah Tye (wife Laura Ah Tye). Raymond will also be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Leslie Lew (husband Bryan Wagner), Tiffany and Brandon Ah Tye. His great grandson, Conner Wagner will also miss Raymond.
A wake will be held on Saturday, March 3 from 3:00-5:00pm atHharry A. Nauman & Son Land Park Funeral Chapel, 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95822. On Sunday, March 4 at 1:30pm, there will be a funeral service at Harry A. Nauman & Son. Interment will follow at the family plot, East Lawn Cemetery, 4300 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95819.
